silver sky neck

Is connecting form of us silver sky's head stock different with se？The back of its head stock looks not that smooth. It seems that it's head stock and neck are glued together. Can anybody explain it?

Hi, what’s the general idea on changing a core silver sky to a floating trem? Should I shim the neck or just leave it as it is? I’ve seen a video saying to shim it by 2x 2/23’s! That seems high to me! Any advice would be happily received. Thanks.
