I've had a few MEs and McRosies and I wouldn't say there's anything 'better' about all MEs vs McRosies. They vary a lot tonally, as I find all rosewood necked guitars do. They aren't as consistent as mahogany or maple. I find the same applies to 594s too.
Treat each guitar as it's own thing...
Cheers! It juts has a micro-burst around the edges, it's almost just a single colour. It's very subtle. I copied the style of my Collection V models where it works well too.
Yes, I've had the guitar several months and have made lots of adjustments and I'm still not happy. This isn't my first rodeo ;)
Matching lower output pickups may work for some, but not for me.
Both 58/15LTs in my PS 594 read 7.9k DC and I find the neck too woolly and the treble a bit too thin. I've just ordered some custom PAF-types to replace them with a slightly hotter bridge and a weaker neck.
I prefer medium-heat pickups and definitely a calibrated set, so they're not really my...
I asked many times for a pernambuco neck blank for a PS build and was told there were none. I even had my dealer ask Paul directly at a meet and greet, and I asked him too, and he said there's none.
There may be some blanks left, but they're not available to mere mortals!
I don't think PRS had very much of it. It was only available on PS orders for a short while around 2010, then the remainder was used up on the Collection guitars in 2012. I don't think it's been used on anything since then.
