Use what works and is accessible to you. Tube Amps certainly have a lot of history and "mojo" but digital amplifiers are just as valid and useful as musical tools. I love both. Now that I think about it, SS amps have some history and "mojo" of their own...

Try Dave's Guitars. They're usually pretty fair on trade in values etc. Otherwise, maybe see if an SE pops up at a Music Go Round near you or message shops directly or via reverb.

Yeah, that's certainly a possibility. I'll get today to test out the guitar with my rig at home and tomorrow I have band practice so hopefully I'll have a good grasp on the pickup combinations by this weekend.

Yeah, I've looked at the Vela too. I think I like the sound of the CE24 better but it's close. My favorite PRS pickup sound is the 594 in the neck. If I could get a guitar with the 594 neck sound and the ce24 bridge pickup sound I would be in heaven LOL.

Have you looked at the Fiore? I had similar needs for my next guitar and the Fiore seemed to tick all the boxes. Definitely gets stratty in the neck and middle pups and the HB in the bridge gets some very good LPish tones.
