The pole pieces are now moved to the center in addition there's now less metal in the bobbin without the screws.Just a matter of how much the tone might have changed, probably subtle who knows?

The neck pickup is different? evidently they modified it.

Was wondering if anyone knows why PRS made changes on the neck pickup. the screws are gone and the magnets/pole pieces are now centered. Thanks

The title pretty much tells it. Could anyone tell me the pot and cap values on a s2 Vela. I've been curious what they used in a guitar that had both a single coil and humbucker. Also I'm probably gonna put a Lollar tele single coil in the bridge so I don't know if I should have the tone pot...

Yours is typical as they are made from Poplar wood not the heavier alder and ash used by Fender.

I also have a semi vela I think the neck pickup is sweet but hate the humbucker, gonna replace it.

Did you leave the original tone pot in?

I'm swapping out the bridge humbucker in my s2 Vela semi hollow. It's just unfamiliar sounding and cold to my ear. I ordered a Lollar Novel T hoping it will mate up with the single coil neck pickup which I like a lot and give me a beefy tele. Will find out next week.

Good coated strings like D'Addario XS series will definitely help. You'd have a coating between metal and the feel on your finger will be different keeping you focused on your fret hand. Don't feel bad I know if I only had a more relaxed attitude to my plating I would be a better player. Lastly...

Seems the string tension feels a little tighter on my Vela, wonder if the break angle on the top loader bridge is a factor?
