Make sure that your E and G strings are not binding in the nut. I would fold up a piece of 600 grit sand paper and smooth them out. You can fold it over your string and use that as a guide to match the width on the E string. If you bend behind the nut and the string doesn't return in pitch its...
Two rolls of Teflon thread tape live with my strat for this reason. Zero slop and you can leave the bar anywhere. Almost makes up for the hassle...almost.
If this is only happening when you play and only the treble side, you might actually be turning the screw with your hand. Maybe when strumming picking or muting? I would put a piece of electrical tape over that screw head and see if it stops. If it is turning by hand and is not just a worn screw...
If your bridge is floating parallel to the body in standard tuning then as you tune down the lower end of the bridge is being pulled down towards the body by an increase in tension of the tremolo springs. When the bridge tilts and drops down the other end tilts up and does raise the strings...
Hey! I have a ce 24 from 1997. I had to touch up the back of the neck and can tell you that zinsser bullseye amber tinted shellac is a spot on match. Use a small foam brush to apply.
I totally agree with everything you said about the se models.
They feel like low end cort guitars with insane prices.
And D.O.A pots and switches are very common.
I would love it if their build quality was on par with any schecter, ibanez or LTD.
They should contract out to those factories and...
Don't ever worry about copying a riff. Everything has been played before and everything will sound different in context when its in your song. Just write all the time and have fun.
I had a similar situation about 12 years ago.
New medication and music was just bouncing off of me not in me.
I decided to spend a little time learning to really read on the instrument.
Start slow if you don't already read, like Mel Bay book 1.
That way you can just open the book and play...
Awesome thank you for your input! I've started out in a similar fashion. 3 note groupings in every possible combination across the fretboard from open position treble to bass. Ive found this helps moving fluidly with position shifts, really learning the board as well as getting the sounds in...
Hey y'all.
Ive been working on a project and putting together lesson plans and would like to know where everyone stands.
I'm trying to find out what kinds of questions people have about learning guitar, or what topics any of you wish you knew more about.
Could be techniques, theory, scales...
If you do want to move it without making a new one I would try just knocking it loose and shifting it towards the bass side a hair. The edges of that nut seem a little wider than the fretboard on the picture.
If you like the way it plays after moving it you could sand down the edge on the bass...
