Wouldn't it be bad for the guitar if I take out the tuners to send them from Germany to USA and wait until they're modified and shipped back? It would mean the guitar won't have any string tension for days or even weeks.

I live in Germany. The ones he offers got different finishes. theres chrome or black nickel and the tuner on the SE are just nickel if I‘m not wrong

It‘s on the binding too, trust me pictures doesn‘t show it

There‘s no notch on the nut, its on the end of the neck/fretboard. Can only be fixed with a neck replacement.

So maybe locking tuners by Schaller might be the better choice...

Will they cover the existing holes?

Is there anybody who has upgraded his SE with Phase III locking tuners? I guess both holes per tuner needs to be drilled but will the Phase III cover the existing drill hole from the stock tuners?

The general feel and function was great but especially the notch on the fretboard looks worse that you can see in the picture. The pictures doesn't really capture this. For more than 500 € I expect to not have such issues. I know this doesn't fit in this thread but are Phase III locking tuners...

That actually was just a little dirt. Are those issues something that happens more frequently or is it just bad luck? The shop I ordered this guitar requested a new one from PRS but still waiting for the answer.

As a huge Linkin Park Fan I hope that I‘ll be allowed to order a duplicate of the red soldier guitar some day.
