Does the crackle have texture/topography to it? Not my style regardless, but I would think any texture to the crackle would make the neck feel really bad.

It is a great top! It is what drew me to it over many other more conventional quilt tops of some other SE’s that I was looking at. I love the criss-cross figuring and grain!

Did you notice a big difference between the SE nut and the US/Core nut? Any noticeable difference in the plugged or unplugged sound? I am thinking about making this upgrade as well ...

What is the difference between the core and SE nut? My new (to me) SE Custom 24 seems kind of “dead” … the strings, especially the low ones, don’t ring out and resonate the way my other guitar does. Going to try easy obvious things first, but wondering if a bad nut is to blame.

I just got a very similar one of these! @shimmilou is correct, it is an SE Custom 24 Exotic with a burled ash top. It is a fun guitar and I am loving it!
