My DGT SE Experience and impartial review

I have bought a new SE SAS, and the SE DGT. Both guitars are having issues with the pickup selector. Will usually not engage the bass pickup, or fully engage the treble pickup. Took the SAS to my trusted luthier for a set up and it came back so bad, I had to return to S/W. They sent another...

Sadly, I have to return my new SE DGT

I had the same thing happen with a new SAS.......The neck was somehow twisted, and I wasted $60 having someone set it up, making it worse! First PRs of about 30 I've had to reject.

Let's talk gear that blew you away from the first note!

Somewhere in the 1980's, the Chandler Tube Driver, and the TC Electronics chorus / Phlanger.....

    The Peter Green Les Paul....

There's nothing special about it right now. What an insult to Guitar/Blues legacy. PG was the best guitarist I've ever heard.

    Baritone 277 SE

Does anyone play the SE 277 Baritone? Terrific guitar. What songs do you play, genres? Thank you!

    PRS SE Swamp Ash Special!

My iris blue has to go back to M/F. Won't stay in tune, sharp fret ends. Ordered another one from Ash.

    SE QC issues?

I've always thought no matter the price of a new electric guitar, it's going to need a set up to accommodate your style/touch. I got a new DGT and SAS. both needed set-ups, and the SAS has some sharp fret ends. I fully expected this, otherwise the guitars are outstanding.

    PRS SE Swamp Ash Special!

Just picked up my new SAS from luthier after set up. Him: "I didn't like PRS until I set up yours, That's a great guitar. I could never get past the birds and the bling, but that guitar sounds like a $3500 instrument. Great choice!" I never noticed those things about the PRSi I've had. I...

Sadly, I have to return my new SE DGT

The new SE SAS I received sounds and plays 10X better than the '97 core SAS I had a decade ago. Pickups are definitely improved.

    PRS SE Swamp Ash Special!

I've had a blue SAS for about a week, feels as heavy as the '97 I had with the beautifully figured maple neck.. This one sounds much better, great sounds from the HB's, very impressed as PRS pu/p's have come a long way in 30+ years. Mine won't stay in tune, altho I'm a bender. So I'll...

What are the lead times for production of PRS Core Custom 24-08 ?

It seems hard to believe the waiting time is 12-18 mos. for a Core, yet here I am waiting that long for 2: a dark green Myles Kennedy, and an imported gold DGT SE.....They're worth waiting for, just don't really understand?

    PRS SE Swamp Ash Special!

Received a blue one yesterday. Probably my 20th + PRSi since 1997. I had a '97 SAS in Whale Blue, and regretted selling it. The good: Really an impressive array of tones!, Great finish, instantly playable, very attractive, comfortable neck although not my favorite prs neck carve. The not as...

PRS SE Models - Do They Have the Same “Essence” As Core Models?

Got my 1st Core in '97, a McCarty, my 1st $2k guitar. Since, I've had about 15 Cores, 3 SE's, and 1 Baritone. The best has been a '97 HB II.....My 1st SE was a HBII piezo, which I think is fantastic. I've never felt playing an SE was any compromise. Growing up with Gibson, the most...
