    High Action on CU24SE

Yeah, we've all been there. It's like the quest for perpetual motion. :)

    High Action on CU24SE

Scallops have their own charms but unfortunately they won't do anything for the action. The first step would be to go to a good tech and get the frets leveled, which may solve your problem all by itself.

    High Action on CU24SE

I don't know that I'd call that high. I play .010's and try for 1/16" on the high E and 1/16"- 3/32" on the low E with just a hair of relief and that's considered modestly low. Keep in mind too, that if you don't hear it through the amp it's not that much of an issue.

    High Action on CU24SE

Hi Christian, I arrived at an explanation anyway! In short, it was a lemon that should never have left the factory. After looking as some other examples of the guitar I realized the neck joint really was a mess as I'd suspected. Either the socket was too deep or the tang of the neck too thin...

    SE tuner button replacements

Oops. Actually the Deltas rather than the Hex's.

    SE tuner button replacements

Wow! The hex's look to be just about a perfect match for the PRS's. Embarrassingly cheap, too! Thanks!

    SE tuner button replacements

Good Morning All, Just for the sake of cosmetics I'd like to replace the buttons (just the buttons - I'm perfectly happy with the tuners themselves) on the tuners on my 2019 Custom 24SE with gold ones, but I haven't seen any that are labelled for an SE as such. Will buttons intended for either...

My new PRS CE bolt on neck is too thin at the heel.

Just so you know, you're not the only one to have the experience. I had a Custom 24 SE that had exactly the same problem. Unfortunately, it was a set neck! :( I went through lowering the trem to about 2/3 spec and filed down the bridge saddles about 1/16" which made it tolerable for a while...

    about satin finishes ...

You achieve a satin / semi-gloss / flat finish by adding a "flattening" or dulling agent to whatever kind of varnish you're using. Flattening agents tend to make the resulting finish somewhat softer than a gloss finish would be, so over time it gets buffed out.

    New Cu24 Question

Return it. I had a CU24 SE that I had bought on impulse that I quickly realized had the same problem. I finally figured out it was the neck joint. Somehow, either the socket was too deep or the neck heel too thin, but if you looked at the side of the neck where it joins the body the edge of...

    Rapid fading of specific colors?

It's just the nature of dyes to fade with time and light, times 100 for sunlight. Time alone will do it eventually but UV is the real culprit. All you can do is keep it in the dark as much as possible. Incandescent light would probably be best around it.

    John Mann's 9th Annual Children's Charity Raffle

I've been trying to buy a ticket for the last half hour and it refuses to recognize my zip code and won't go past it. :(

    SE Tuning Instability

It's more of a "big annoyance". Once you do what you have to do with it (i.e., file and lube the slots, which, I suspect most players are going to have to do anyway on an SE unless they plan to play .009's forever) it's fine, at least in my experience. I think the real sting is that when you...
