I'm thinking of moving my strap button to the back of my CU22. Has anyone done this and where did you place the button or lock button. My hesitancy is the truss rod and a screw which may get near it.

Look at my recent thread about my new (to me) JA15.

A former owner had put a strap lock on the back, similar to what you are considering.

It causes the guitar to lean forward, since the center of mass is no longer balanced between the two strap points. I removed that second strap button/lock.

I suggest you don't try this.

PRS thinks things through quite carefully, strap button locations included.

Hence the reason I'm asking first. I'll just not mess with the thought anymore.
Thanks so much for a first hand experience reply! Merry Christmas and enjoy the Holidays!

Agree with shinksma. It causes the guitar to lean forward.

Gibson SGs have the strap button located behind the neck, so if you wish you can play some in a store and see how they feel. However, if you plan on using strap locks, then the guitar will be even further away from you and lean forward even more than the ones in-store.

Having the strap button on the heel has never worked for me. The guitar rolls forward.

What he said!

Hey thanks again to all! I'm leaving it alone. The reason I thought about moving it was after watching a Chuck Loeb interview where he explains why he has his in that position. I completely agree with you all who posted in this regard and again thanks!
