Santana maple tops

Do the Santana models get "better" tops as standard? I am curious because my Santana has a gorgeous top - almost the quality of my Artist tops - and it's not a 10 top. I don't have a hang tag to check either. A couple of examples (picture time!)

This. All of my Santanas have great tops, too. Even the slab of Korina that is the KL-33!

Right on. I mean, logically - to me anyway, Carlos Santana is kind of PRS' main dude, so it would just make sense that they'd give those guitars a "little extra"....even when it's just a Santana III like I have.

Now that you made me think about it, all Santanas do have nice tops. I don’t think it is deliberate on the part of PRS though, it is just Karma doing its thing.

Paul's are cool, but mine is Surf Green!

Mine is ok - certainly not as nice as some others I have seen.....

Yes. They get the best maple tops and the best sounding mahogany as well. It helps when you top it off with a Brazzy board.

We can’t really stress this enough. I know it’s a bit of a gamble, and they’re not exactly inexpensive but, my love for guitars and PRS is so re-energized by Santana shaped things.
