'Pre-factory' neck?

I've noticed that the current Santana signature model has a 'Pre-factory' neck. I was wondering if this was a chunky neck or what style was it. I've recently played a 594's and the neck was extremely uncomfortable to me. Way too fat and the asymmetry threw me off. Wondering if these pre-factory necks are similar or not.

The Santana neck is pretty beefy, as well. Perhaps a little more so than the 594.
