What is that guitar hanging on the left in Jack's office? They never show the whole thing, has a big route on the right side. Could that be a tele prototype? Bridge doesn't look like a tele bridge though.

Seriously. I’ll always love my Epi LP because it was my first electric, but…the SE’s are orders of magnitude better. I can’t imagine how different things would’ve been if teenage me could’ve heard what a guitar sounds like when it plays in tune above the third fret.

That was my second guitar after the Squier: a black Epi LP. I loved that thing. Sad part about it was the wiring all went to hell. The soldering wasn't very good. I discovered this when I entered on of those King of the Blues competitions back in like 2008. Its like ten minutes before I go on, decide to do a few warm ups, I plug into an amp and nothing. After opening up the control cavity, the hot lead to the volume had come off. I reattached the wires with chewing gum, and did the gig. Good times....I won too....well...I won a cheap t-shirt, but I won something!

BTW, my little opinion here....Epiphone QC > Gibson QC. They make some solid instruments. I kinda still want a Casino model...someday I guess.

That’s a great story about the chewing gum! Desperate times…

And yeah, I had a Casino that I ended up giving to my dad. It’s a beautiful guitar, I still look forward to playing it when I go over to his place. I also have a 3-pickup Riviera with Bigsby. I was so nervous to buy an Epi with a Bigsby, but it stays in tune about as well as any other trem system I’ve used outside of PRS, and it’s got some great tones in it. They seem to have really held the line on QC with their hollow bodies, for sure

I'm GASing for one, and I enjoyed that last video very much. Sometimes heavy marketing gets very comical:

Jack: " They nailed the color on the first guitar they shipped".
They had a painted sample, were you expecting them to ship you a guitar with a mismatched color ? That would call into question the ability of that factory.

DG: "Dark back is perfect... that's hard to do".
No it's not (polishing aside), if anything a lighter translucent one is harder.

DG says that after a while he couldn't tell which was which, that's hard to believe from a man who can feel a 2/1000" difference in neck shape ?

Yeah, I thought the exact same thing. AND from someone who went thru 50 pickup sets (or however many he said) to "get it right" with the Core DGT???

I totally understand & get that there will be some aesthetic differences to the core-model, as with most SEs.the short-comings of this being an "SE". But you can really notice in this last video shows it as well; not fully the same level of arch-top, the recessed knob-area on all 3 plus the toggles switch....I think these 2 sculpturing differences make the guitar "look" High Quality......

While I have no doubt this is a fantastic guitar, especially for the price-point (I have one on pre-order and am totally stoked about it) I found all of these pretty funny too, especially the 2/1000" thing. That's like... the difference of a piece of paper or 2. I have no doubt that he can feel fine tuned differences between guitars, but maaaaan... that's pretty hard to believe.
