(Man, I've been a bit of a downer lately, haven't I?)
Watching a show called "The Big Interview" on AXS-TV. Dan Rather interviewing Linda Ronstadt. They started with a lot of clips of her from back in the day - what an awesome voice, and what a song interpreter. She's got Parkinson's Disease now and can't sing, and hearing the bit of a quiver in her speaking voice - such a loss. But worse is hearing her talk about the frustrations from the disease - memory loss, verbal struggles. It must be hell.
I wasn't much of a fan of her later stuff, but man - the clip they showed of "Blue Bayou" showed me that I'd forgotten how truly powerful her voice was.
