I've found that this is very handy to have so I don't have to turn on the overhead lights or use a flashlight if on stage. Clips right on the handle, it's small enough to put in your gig bag, and cheap enough to buy a couple for your band mates too. There are probably knock off brands less expensive out there, but I bought mine here:

That is a GREAT idea!

Not only on stage, but also for getting behind a rack of gear, or just being able to put a light where you need it for some task or other. I'm definitely going to get one.
