594 Bridge Drops

Hi! When I remove all the strings from my 594, the bridge drops flush with the guitar's body. After re-stringing I always have to bring it to proper height. I know this sounds weird and I've never had this happen with other guitars. What could be causing this? Any help will be appreciated!

That seems odd, the thumbscrews should be staying put - unless you are somehow turning them without realizing it? If they are holding the action when fully strung then they sure seem to be working properly.

Regardless, do one string at a time - it's almost always the best option.

I think the technical term for that would be "super weird."

Just for clarity, are you talking about the bridge, or the tailpiece that holds the strings' ball ends?
