I know the 305 sounds great for lead, single-note lines, but how Stratty is its sound for funk-style rhythms? Curious.
Thanks!

I plugged one into a Twin Reverb just the other day, and it sounded great. Without actually doing a direct A/B comparison between the 305 and a Strat, my impression was that the 305 had a bit more midrange than a vintage-style Strat. On the Twin I was running the mid at about 2 (normally with a Strat I'd run it about 4), bright switch on, treble about 3-4, bass at halfway. Loved it--but I've got no business having a Twin--as much as I dig 'em, I can't lift one! I did find myself wanting to take the 305 home, though--but that's going to have to wait until I can scare up some gigs!

Mine spanks like a wickked stepmother.

Keep in mind, the production 305s tend to have a more modern Strat sound. If you want that perfect, shiney 70's Strat spank, and you have a sensitive ear, you may want to check out other options like the 513. Or a 70s Strat. :D
