Good Day All,

Looking for some help/info on value/authenticity of a 1992 Custom 24 that may come my way.

I actually found a link to the same guitar being sold on Reverb last year.

To the best of my knowledge, the pickups have been changed, the tuners, probably the nut, and all the wiring/pots. This all adds up to me to be a little odd. I am a big fan of PRS but not sure there is much PRS value left to it. I suspect the price listed was the price paid, or close to it, by the person that approached me about it.

Is it me, or is that price of 2500 Canadian (2000 US) a bit much?

I personally am looking at a swap for my AVRI Strat, he also wants some cash, and am having a hard time judging the value of the Custom 24.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah, no.

I’m sure it’s an okay guitar but you’re right to be hesitant. $2000 (US) is way too much for that guitar IMO. There’s nothing terribly exceptional about it option wise, and as you’ve said everything has been replaced.

I don’t know if dude could get $1500 for it, let alone two stacks.

Yeah, he offered it to me for an AVRI Strat +$500. I already think that is too much, but that is what negotiations are for. Just trying to get a gauge on percieved value if I do decide to counter.
