Hello all,
I stumbled on this article online, and was pretty surprised.

In short, it says there were only 15,000 electric guitars sold last year that cost over $2000. It doesn't break it down by manufacturer. But if you look at serial numbers on PRS' website, they sell approximately 10,000 set neck guitars per year. I have no idea how many guitars Fender's Custom Shop sells, but it seems like Gibson still churns out a bunch of high dollar Les Pauls. That's a tiny market, gents.
I bought 2 new PRSi last year, but none this year. You all may laugh, but I'm thinking of selling a couple older guitars, just so I can pick up a new one...just to try and help keep the doors open, ya know?
