    Special semi-hollow 22 pickup orentation

Makes sense that the phase wouldn’t chage for rotation of the pickup. I did recognize that the spot of the string being picked up would change in split humbucking depending on pickup rotation. Did surprise me that the active split coils don’t both have screws, I assumed before inspection that...

    Safety…And Next?

+1 on this Cut a narrow long trench with a concrete saw, chip the concrete out, put a conduit and power cable in, and add an outlet box. Fill the trench with concrete and problem solved.

    Special semi-hollow 22 pickup orentation

Disclaimer: I’m not a pickup expert, but I have researched pickup design and wiring of the SE SAS because of rewiring the guitar, changing pickups, and installing a Freeway 6 position switch. Some of the following may not be totally accurate, please correct me as necessary. The clockwise vs...

Fret sprout on SE SAS yet?? Anyone...

I observed neck width shrinkage causing the end of the frets to overhang the fret board. I believe this is the problem others are having, not frets pushing up above the surface of the board.

Fret sprout on SE SAS yet?? Anyone...

I wonder if SE in cases spend so little time in Maryland that fret sprout isn’t a problem when inspected. So many people having this problem is evidence of under-dried wood in Indonesia. This needs to be addressed at the source prior to fretting.

    Paul's guitar feedback please

I agree with Bogner. I especially love my Paul’s for clean tones and I enjoy the split positions as much as full humbucker. I prefer my Paul’s over my Silver Sky, Custom 24, McCarty 594 and SE SAS. My Paul’s has a trem, I wish it was hard tail. I blocked it so I can drop tune it fast.

Is it worth switching from 85/15s to 85/15?

I replaced 85/15S in my SE SAS with 85/15 TCI. As SinSir said the non S versions are more clear and articulate. I found the 85/15S to be muddy compared to my 2015 core Custom 24 with 85/15 pickups, which is why I upgraded the SAS. I think the TCI versions to be more articulate than the 2015...

    2022 Custom 24 w/ Clicking Trem

Yes, the strings and springs pull the bridge towards the neck. I wonder if a very loose bushing screw allowed the bushing to rotate, causing the now tightened bushing screw to push on the wrong part of the bushing? I’ve never taken one out and I suspect there is an area the screw presses on to...

    2022 Custom 24 w/ Clicking Trem

Move the trem from the back without using the arm, see if it clicks. If it doesn’t then maybe the plastic bushing in the bridge is damaged. I think you might be able to slide it out if the allen screw is removed. Is it possible there was something installed inside the springs to dampen their...

    PRS SE Silver Sky

The bolt on necks are custom fit for each guitar. Swapping them may require reducing neck width and thickness on one and shimming the other to swap them. Neck angle to bridge height and string height may also require sorting out. Errors made during this process may make one or both guitars...

    The "Official Silver Sky" Thread

The portion of spring inserted in the block is kinked (bent) before insertion to secure it in place. The spring can be successfully removed with pliers by rotating the spring back and forth in the block while pulling away from the block. Reinstalling a spring requires quite a bit of force to...
