    from SE to S2

After the first few days with my new S2 I finally found a minor flaw. The pickguard doesn't sit 100% even on the body, which causes an audible buzz when playing hard. I checked all the screws, tightened them, slightly loosened them, tightened them again... but the buzz keeps coming back. It...

    from SE to S2

The SE didn't have the locking tuners, it had a really bad nut (I guess plastic) and it didn't have an intonatable bridge.

    from SE to S2

I owned an SE Standard 22 two years ago. And although it wasn't really a bad guitar, I had to change most of the stock hardware (bridge, nut, tuners, pickups) and the cost summed up to a height that I could have bought an S2 instead. I just bought an S2 Standard 22 last week and - what a...

PRS S2 Standard disable tone control

Hi all, I just bought a new PRS S2 Standard. Amazing guitar, and I got a really good deal yesterday at Musik-Produktiv-Messe. I would like to disable its tone control. I guess the green & white wires have to stay to keep the push/pull coil tapping feature of the pot. There are two black...

    2018

Damn, I was hoping for an S2 Custom 22 with fixed bridge (ideally with Satin Charcoal finish, that‘s just beautiful.). And why do most S2 models not have the bird inlays? Well, perhaps next year then.

#7 covered bridge and neck pickup size

Hey, can someone tell me what size the covered #7 bridge and neck pickup have?

G string sounds buzzy only through the neck pickup

I think I have identified the problem. First I flipped the neck pickup, but the G string still sounded bad. Okay, this at least showed that the pickup is perfectly fine. But then I put a small piece of metal on the bridge right between string and saddle - et voila! The buzz vanished. I guess...

G string sounds buzzy only through the neck pickup

Many thanks for your input! I found a couple of people on the internet that seem to have the same problem with their G string. Some of them were finally able to fix it by exchanging the plain G string with a wound one. I just ordered one - wish me luck! If that doesn't help I will definitely try...

G string sounds buzzy only through the neck pickup

I wish I could post a small sound clip here to demonstrate the issue. Yes, I guess a defective neck pickup seems likely - but wouldn't a defective pickup affect all strings and not just one string?

G string sounds buzzy only through the neck pickup

Hey, I have a problem with my PRS SE Standard. The G string sounds buzzy (sounds mechanical like fret buzz, not like an electronic shielding problem), but strangely the buzz is only audible when playing through the neck pickup. When I play the guitar clean without amplification I don’t hear any...

    PRS SE Adjustable Stoptail Bridge

Can someone tell me what exactly the difference is between the stud wells that John Mann delivers with the SE/S2 and the US Core bridges? The threads seem to be the same... do the wells have a different size?

Intonatable bridge for PRS SE Standard 22

I just got my SE back from the luthier. The Schaller Signum wasn't an easy install (see my post above) but it was worth the wait. First impression: What a beauty! And playing with it for a couple of minutes I immediately heard a much increased sustain. I love it!

Intonatable bridge for PRS SE Standard 22

I finally bought the Schaller Signum and and took my PRS SE to the luthier for professional installation and setup. Yesterday - after four weeks - I called him and asked when I can pick up my guitar. Well, he will need another week. Because of the known metric/US studs problem he had to order...

Intonatable bridge for PRS SE Standard 22

I've done some more research and finally decided to go with the Schaller Signum. Just ordered the bridge at the music store and will get it installed and adjusted by their luthier. Delivery time is 1-2 weeks. Will post some photos when everything is done.
