    How modifiable are pickups?

Dude, that looks SICK!!! I do have a butane torch that's hella fun to use...but I don't think it's the look I'm going for with this guitar. Might do it on a different one though!

    How modifiable are pickups?

They're whatever PRS uses standard in the \m/ pickups, which appear to be SAE 5-40 flathead screws. Also, I LOVE Philadelphia Luthier!

    How modifiable are pickups?

Apparently it does; I don't know much about this stuff. Can anyone think of any issues that might crop up by removing all six pole piece screws at the same time to put them through the bluing process? I don't want to risk any of the solutions getting down into the pickup itself. Thanks!

    How modifiable are pickups?

Thanks! Any concerns that either would eat away at the plastic bobbins?

    How modifiable are pickups?

Thanks for the input, everyone. I don't know nearly as much about the inner workings of pickups as I do other parts of a guitar. I've got two Custom 24s. One came loaded with \m/ pickups and I absolutely love them, which is why I jumped on this loose set when I saw them pop up for sale. I...

    How modifiable are pickups?

Okay, hear me out... I have a Cu24 with 85/15 TCI pickups, and I just cannot jive with them. I bought a set of uncovered squabbin \m/ pickups that I'm gonna drop in there and get rid of the 85/15 set. However - the 85/15s have the smoked chrome pole pieces, and the \m/ pickups have the...

Who's your truss rod cover guy?

Everybody's got a guy (or gal), so I figured I'd ask - I'm looking to get a flame maple truss rod cover for a Custom 24. Bonus if it can be stained as close to Bonnie Pink Smokeburst as possible. Where do y'all go for custom wood truss rod covers? Who's your guy/gal?

    To clean a case?

I don't blame them either. If I look at it from their perspective, it's the only answer they could really give.

    To clean a case?

Already did. Dropped them a line stating that I acquired a guitar and the case was a little dingy. Was hoping they might have some input as to how best to clean the case. This is what I got in response: "As the manufacturer of PRS Guitars, we cannot properly advise on how to refurbish/deep...

408 vs DGT vs McCarty Soapbar

I'm late to the party here, but the 408 has been my main guitar and workhorse for a decade now. It can do anything. I typically leave the neck pickup as a single coil and keep the bridge as a humbucker. But if I need to get some Tele spank, flipping the bridge to single gets me pretty darn...

    To clean a case?

Thanks, all! The cases used around 2012 were very similar to the black paisley artist cases, but this was the iteration before black paisley became the "default". Same color scheme - black fabric wrap with the brown leather/vinyl ends - just that the fabric is a plain black. My AP 408 from...

    To clean a case?

I’ve acquired a Signature Limited, but the case is a little dingy and I’d like to clean it up. What, if anything, do y’all use to safely clean the early-2010s era Artist cases (the plain black fabric exterior with the brown leather “caps”)? Thanks!

Any HB owners ever use flat wound strings?

Good call on the bending issue, Duffy. I hadn't considered that, but I do recall bends being very stiff and much more laborious. Not impossible, as you said, but more difficult than normal. I was considering picking up a Hollowbody II for a while, and my plan was to use actual acoustic...
