I haven't listened to Yello in a long time, but Flag was one of my favorite late 80s-early 90s records. They were absolute pioneers in using sampling technology, and they are also fantastic writers and producers. They're prolific in film and high end ad scoring work as well. Of course the Ferris Beuler tune Oh Yeah was a classic, but these guys can get very ethereal, very funky, and are good singers as well.

Tonight my computer has been downloading a new sample library, and I actually had time to listen to some old records instead of making new ones.

So I got to revisit this record. It's strange, yet it's perfectly done. And it holds up pretty well.

Meier is also a guy who grew up a millionaire industrialist, performance artist, and professional gambler. The whole thing is very unusual, strange, and interesting. I like it when people do more than one thing well.
