Hi I have PRS USA S2 Custom 24 and want to change tone control capacitor. You can see it on the picture
May I change it with this one?
May I change it with this one?
So, what is your final opinion - to change it, or not?!Will it fit? Yes. Will you notice a difference? No. Will it give your guitar instant "mojo"? Absolutely!
As an electrical engineer, I love the selling point they make: "...makes the 715P and 716P series ideal for high current, high pulse applications". A guitar puts out current in the range of micro to milliamps - not exactly high current.
May I ask why you’re wanting to change the tone cap? Is something not working, or are just wanting to try a different value to see the effect of it? It will definitely work, but I doubt you’ll notice a major difference. Might want to record some before and after clips, with tone full open, and then gradually turned down, to realistically compare the two.So, what is your final opinion - to change it, or not?!

Good point! I didn’t see that this was listed in the amp section. What you linked to is more appropriate for guitar use.Not that Mojotone doesn't engage in marketing BS, but that link is from the amp parts section, so the description makes more sense.
600V is completely unnecessary for a guitar, so the 100V is a much better option: https://www.mojotone.com/Sprague-Orange-Drop-Capacitor
The caps they use on S2 guitars are great, though. No need to change unless it's faulty or you want to try a different value.
