I'm thankful for all the great feedback concerning the wireless topic. My first gig with new band was pretty nice, it felt good to be back into something with forward motion again.

My bass player brought an A-T wireless for me to try, a unit that belongs to his son-in-law. I don't know what model it was but it worked very well and coupled with the feedback from this forum I will most likely get one of my own. Our soundman built a stand to hold my acoustic guitar in a playing position so having wireless will make switching between the two a little easier which has also made me want strap locks since I will have to swing electric behind me.

I'm thinking the planet waves locking strap because I don't want a chunk of metal to get loose in my case and I had a guitar come off with schallers once. Anybody use the planet waves locking strap?

When I was shopping for wireless, I looked at the Sennheiser 172 G-3 system.
I had used their professional wireless gear for years in other environments and found it to be the best. (And we often tortured it.)
The controls are very user friendly, and the RF meter is active as you scroll through frequencies, so you can see what's out there.
Also, the "sync" button will save the information you programmed into the transmitter to the receiver automatically via a IR port.
It uses 2 AA batteries, and if you use Lithiums, it will last a very long time. (our 250 mw. units went 8 hrs.) I'd never get another transmitter that uses 9 v.
The Line 6 also gets good reviews, but I'm not sold on the 2.4 gig band yet. Perhaps I'm old school.
Both are 30 mw. I was used to 250 mw., and we'd always want more, but sometimes we'd be at great distances.
I don't like the hard wired antenna on the transmitter, that was a weakness on the pro gear, and they were screw in.

I haven't bought either yet, since I just bought a new, to me, PRS, but I'd give the Sennheiser a look over the A-T.

I'm not sure I will buy the A-T wireless, I meant I would buy A wireless. I still have the samson concert TD series wireless I purchased back in the late 80s. Didn't do it for me the couple times I tried it in the last year. Seemed to alter my signal too much.

I called samson to see if they could freshen it up a bit but got the cold shoulder???????
