Will Tremonti Have His Own HBII?

That was done with members of Sinatra's touring band. And, for a good cause!

Tremonti Sings Sinatra, which comes out May 27, is exactly what the title says. Tremonti put down his axe, put on a tailored suit and tie and recorded 14 Frank Sinatra songs last year, with a band comprised of more than a dozen of Sinatra’s touring musicians and led by his musical director Mike Smith. Proceeds will go to the National Down Syndrome Society, inspired by Tremonti’s one-year-old daughter Stella. The project also launches his Take A Chance For Charity initiative, which will challenge others in the public eye — musicians, athletes, actors, comedians — to step out of their comfort zones and make similar efforts for charity.

Blown away by the story, the performance and the cause. Mark is super talented, but clearly an even better human being.

I've always hated Sinatra's music (no disrespect for the guy, just not for me) and Tremonti has been my favorite musician for the last year. So it's strange to hear Mark sing Sinatra. I still don't care for Sinatra's music, it seems, but Mark sounds great here. Way closer sounding to Sinatra than I expected.

I'm going to stick to listening to his other stuff, but maybe I can use this to get my parents to come around to him.

I’m pretty much in the same boat, except if I “get my parents to come around,” I’m writing a Stephen King novel.
