I have the hankering to get a bass to mess around with, especially since I played the prototype GG bass at my dealer when Paul was there a few months back.
I know there are lots of other brands out there, and Chapman who is in the Andertons videos from the UK has his own line of guitars now, and he is coming out with a bass.
These are made by the same people who make the SEs, World Music Company, but I would like to get an SE if one is ever produced.
Or even an S2 if they decide to make one.

Any news at all out there is an SE bass will be introduced before to long?
I think it is long overdue.

I'd be impressed if they could make a bass that would make me consider ditching my Fenders.

My wife bought a Korean made Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub in 2006 that was just better all around than her USA Fender P. Played better, sounded better, was more stable as far as needing setups and such. So, I know the Koreans can do it for a PRS SE bass.

I've played several of the Skylines... quality of work isn't an issue. The P basses I have right now just feel "right". I've played plenty of Fender dogs from all production facilities.

Cool. I'm sure Fender can do something right occasionally.

To be fair mine are both franken fenders that have had several different configurations until they were just right. Ha. Maybe that's more on me piecing the right parts together.

Prior to owning PRS guitars, I must have owned a dozen F-style guitars made from various parts. Some were pretty, some were ugly. It was fun to tinker and I learned a lot about guitars in general. None were ever as good as my USA PRSi have been. But I still maintain that any Fender product is essentially a partscaster and there really isn't any magic to what they do versus any other parts manufacturer.

My wife's USA Fender P-bass now has a neck on it made by USA Custom Guitars, custom carved to be a copy of the Lakland neck. She likes it a lot better now. :)
