Why the head stock of silver sky looks different from back with its se version？

Is connecting form of us silver sky's head stock different with se？The back of its head stock looks not that smooth. It seems that it's head stock and neck are glued together. Can anybody explain it?

They both use scarf-jointed headstocks.

PRS S2 guitars are built this way as well.

USA "core" PRS models have one-piece neck shaft with a glued on fretboard.

Cheaper labor and materials. I've seen more pieces of wood used on a se than chop sticks at a sushi house. We wanna tell ourselves these things are the same and the man is sticking it to us but the truth is there has to be cost savings measures somewhere if not everywhere. Nothing wrong with that. Each piece of wood will come together differently. I have seen SE headstocks that you can hardly tell there is a joint and American headstocks that look horrible. The opposite of what you would expect. The joint in each case is going to hold, but the grain of the wood sometimes blends better, sometimes worse.

USA and Indonesian Silver Sky necks are made in exactly the same way, with the same number of pieces of wood. The difference is in the time it takes to make them.

I agree, just feel confused about their design thoughts. Though both of US and Indonisia ones use scarf-jointed design, the headstock shape of Indonisia one looks much better like other prs guitars, the US one's transition at the headstock is too abrupt. Trying not to let this detail be my deal breaker of Silver Sky.

You’re overthinking it, and you can’t judge by photographs.

Where are you getting the impression that the headstock transition is “too abrupt” on the USA model?

My SE SAS scarf joint is very obvious. This doesn’t change the way the guitar sounds. Don’t get lost in the trees and forget the forest. The pickups sound very different in the two models. Get the one that speaks to your ears.
