Why not many PRS in rig rundowns?

You know, if I met a movie-goer who had never heard of Leonardo di Caprio I would question which planet they came from.

There have been a lot of valid points already made, but I know that another stigma for many people avoiding PRS is the history it had in the late 90s/early 00s. When I say history I mean two things: who were the people playing PRS and waht style of music were they playing.

A lot of the people I know associate PRS with nu-metal, especially Limp Bizkit, and a lot of what is considered fake or crappy alt rock or whatever you wanna call it, like Good Charlotte and Nickelback.

Hell, 10 years ago that's how I associated them. It wasn't until around 2003 when I first heard Opeth and Porcupine Tree that I thought "well, now I need one...".

Another deciding factor for me was the tone Petrucci got out of it on Stream of Consciousness. Mark Tremonti, being a fan of JP, gave him one of his sig models, which JP then used on that song and hence its darker tone.

My 2cents.
