I finally received my Roxy Pink Silver Sky from Guitar Center back in December. Wow, off the box it was tuned, great intonation, and beautiful. I see why PRS fans love PRS guitars. The neck, frets, the pickups, the quality of build, just amazing.
Now, was I wowed the same way I was when I got my 2021 Gibson Les Paul in Transparent Cherry? Sad to say, no. PRS delivered on ALL its promises to this guitar. It's probably the best built guitar I have ever owned. For some reason, though, it's just not as engaging to me as my custom Black1 Fender Strat, or my Gibson Les Paul, or my Fender Dragon Telecaster.
So recently Fender issued a 1961 American Vintage II Strat in Fiesta Red and Rosewood fingerboard. I ordered one and will arrive in June of this year.
For now, I continue to play the Roxy Pink to get acquainted with it. I am trying. But it's just not as inspiring as the sound and feel of a Fender.
