Quick question. I had a few sets of these PRS Classic 10's strings laying around from an old deal and have never tried them.

I usually have use D'Addario 10's for years.

I put the PRS strings on a core SC 594 I am trying out.

For whatever reason the tone was different in a good way. More vintage and vowely on lower and moderate gain.
Actually a tone I have been kind of searching for a long time to find on LP Historics and ES 335s.

They are definitely different than the D'Addarios.
Actually kind of turned this SC 594 from a nice Singlecut into a very very good Singlecut.

Anyone have any insights here?

D’Addario makes them, but they may be a different spec than their own branded strings. I’ve heard claims that the Signatures are just NYXL’s, too, but I greatly preferred the Sigs on my 594 compared to the NYXL. Who knows, maybe it was all in my head. But I think both PRS varieties are excellent. The Classics are much like the DR Pure Blues I was using previously, in a very good way, but they cost a lot less.

I like the NYXLs and the Sigs too. To me it seems like they sound better but I'm not sure quite why. They do seem to last longer than normal strings.

PRS Classic 10-46's came on my guitar and though I have changed them to DR's since I thought they felt and played great. Didn't know D'Addario made them for PRS until now. I may alternate and try the PRS's again to try and really compare.
