Which PUs in my P22

When I bought my 2012 P22 the dealer told me it had uncovered 53/10 Squabbins in it.



But the hangtag says "P22 TM" and the labels on the back of the baseplates say "P22 Treble" and "P22 Bass".

So are "P22 TM" just relabled uncovered 53/10 Squabbins or are they modified in anyway for the P22 electronics (reverse magnet, polarity, winding,...)?

Who knows?

I actually like the sound of the PUs (although I could deal with a little more output) but doesn't the FJB literally scream for brushed covers like in a Modern Eagle 1?

They're uncovered 53/10s, just renamed P22s.

If you do change them out, dibs!

That's exactly what I try to find out.

PRS changed the P22 stock PUs from 53/10 to 57/08 in 2013(?), several P22 private stocks were built with covered 5XXX, somebody here from the forum swapped McCarty's in his P22 and somebody even seems to have put a set of DMZ Illuminators into it...

Admittedly I only took a quick glance, but it looks like the magnetic pickups are wired to the blade switch just like gazillions of other electric guitars!

They are.. but the magnets have been changed to accommodate the combination of Piezo and Magnetic..
