Hi ! I'm new here. I need your help for choosing an humbucker for the bridge .

I built my first guitar in Alder body , maple neck and ebony fretboard , fret in steel and hardtail bridge.
I thought to put an Seymour Duncan sm3 in the neck(mini humbucker).
But I still don't know which humbucker to put in the bridge.
-prs 57/08
-seymour Duncan sh5
-gibson 84t lm

Do you have any advice?
I love a clear high gain sound without too much mids .

Big fan of the SM3 neck. Great pickup.

I'd use the Duncan Custom or the Duncan Saturday Night Special.
I'm not familiar with the 5909.

No, the 59/09 has a lot of mids, it’s fat and heavy in the midrange. It’s the hottest sounding ‘PAF’ I’ve heard, it doesn’t really sound like one actually. It’s modern and fat.

Monty’s PAF or a lower output PAF replica is lovely wmif you prefer less mids. Maybe Bare Knuckle’s PG Blues too.

Lower output PAFs work well in bolt on maple neck guitars. It’s not hot but has enough power. Your amp and pedals can do that. You’ll get more headroom and range too.

Klein Epic '59 and Throbak PG-102 (Peter Green) are pretty sweet. I have the Kleins in a 594 and the Throbaks in a Knaggs Kenai.

Never tried the Throbak, they're crazy expensive.

I had the 59/09s for a year, they were very good, but they are quite hot, they're very fat. Definitely inspired by a PAF rather than being one. They added girth and mids to every guitar they were in.

Should also add that I've tried all of Bare Knuckle's PAFs, I've personally preferred Monty's PAF to all of them. Monty's could charge double what they do, they're the same price as a Bare Knuckle. I should say, I love BK's single coils.

Monty's = more harmonic detail, more depth, more snarl, more touch sensitive, more range.

Monty's PAF has enough ouput. I play high gain, they're totally clear and detailed. If you're playing high gain, you'll have more than enough output and gain in your amp.
