Where's the SE Chris Robertson?

I've been watching Sweetwater for months and they still don't have these in stock. Musicians Friend and American Musical don't even show them when searching. I know some random dealers get them occasionally but what's up? Are they just taking a while to get in?

I was kind of wondering about that too. For a few weeks I was highly undecided about what I was gonna do about mixing some P90 action into at least one of my guitars and either an actual Chris Robertson or at least the concept of sticking a P90 in the neck slot of some other guitar was near the top of my consciousness. And there were almost no Chris Robertsons to be found. I think Willicut in Kentucky had 2-3 in stock that showed up on Reverb and I didn't see any others anywhere. I'm sure there might be some big PRS dealers that have them and don't advertise them except on their own sites, but none of the big mainstream dealers had any listed. And I'd assume at the SE price-point, that's where a lot of those guitars would sell. Sweetwater and Guitar Center (and affiliates like MF) all seem to stock plenty of Zach Myers and SE 245s and whatnot, but no Chris Robertsons. Maybe P90s just aren't very popular. I think Ibanez sells quite a few of their excellent semi-hollow guitars, but they sold a hollow body P90 version (essentially a knockoff of an Epi Casino) for a few years, but killed it off pretty quickly. And it's a pretty tough model to find used even though it was for sale up until 2-3 years ago. PRS isn't selling any SE soapbar models these days other than the Robertson.

I've just recently really gotten into P90s - LOVE those things - but they must not be very popular among the buying public...

Snapped mine up from Sweetwater in January.

As dmatthews said, GTRMAV seems to have one...
Curious as to the inventory issue... high demand or (s)low production?

Enjoy it quite a bit. Neck's pretty chunky and has a good feel, I did do my usual "I have to change something on it!" so,
...I swapped the stock P90 which was OK for a Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90 (which is what I believe is in the current P90 equipped SC594) and it definitely was an improvement and "sounds like" the P90 of what I have pictured in my head.
...satin finished the neck with Scotchbrite pad (I've done that to all my guitars since I first got the SE Holcomb that came with the satin neck. It was an epiphany)
...locking tuners (just cuz)
...drilled and tapped out the side markers and replaced them with luminlay.

Overall a great guitar. The SE57/08s are a bit more trebly than the rest of the herd but in a good 90's rock sound kind of way. Cuts thru the band mix better.

If you're lookin'... you should find one and just do it!
Sorry for the enabling but you came to this forum so would you expect anything less? o_O

Interestingly, while there are new ones out there (more on Reverb than eBay), I can't seem to find any used! People must get attached to them...

I got mine In December...I keep an eye out regularly for a used one to pop up...I believe I've seen 2 used ones for sale since then. For me, it's a lovable beast and I don't ever want to let go of it...so, that's my best guess as to why they are so scarce...well that and general badassery...
