Greetings,
First post..... I have never had a PRS until recently I bought an old, scarred, Vela and I love it! I have been playing a '58 les paul reissue for many years with the BIG chunky neck for many years and I wanted a second guitar mainly to string up in different tunings which is why I bought the Vela . That, plus it was cheap.)
So, I quickly adapted to the much skinnier neck so easy that it is a non-issue, and the stock pickups sound great.
Anyway, I also recently tried a friend's Mccarty (volume/tone only, stop tail bridge, not a 594),and was amazed at the versatility and playability as well.
Started my search for a 2020 or 2021 Mccarty with the " TCI" pickups and coming up empty everywhere. Local music stores? nope.
Online music stores? nope. Craigslist? Reverb? Nope.
Does PRS only make a few each year that quickly get sold out? Is it the supply chain issue?
Any insight appreciated!

PRS is backlogged due to covid. Catching up, but still not fully there yet. Models seem to come in spurts and waves watching the dealers. Some of them have ETA listed on their site and others can give you better idea contacting them.

Not sure if this will interest you or not but there is this one McCarty here which you may be interested in. (I'm not affiliated but I am a previous owner of this guitar.)

It is a McCarty with a Brazillian Rosewood fingerboard and a solid Rosewood neck. It also has a 2015 PRS factory refinished top in Black Cherry over the quilted Maple top. If you don't like the stock pickups, you can always order newer pickups from the PRS online accessories store.
