Where’s Waldo

His leather jacket had chains that would jingle
They both met movie stars, partied and mingled
Their A&R man said "I don't hear a single"
The future was wide open.

"What are you going to wear tonight, dear?"

"Oh I dunno. I guess I'll wear my leather jacket, some chains, some black jeans, and the boots with the chains."

"That's what you wear every single day!"

"I have to, I'm a guitar player. It's the law!"

"Well, be sure to tuck your pant legs into the boots so no one misses the chains."

come on les we’ve seen your pointy boots.

ironizing that gianni depp played the ponce in that petty video and now he wears more necklaces than vai (and drake).

I had a buddy in high school that used to take his bass (a good Fender) everywhere. In fact, it was always in his back seat or trunk except during a few months of winter. No case, no bag, just a bass and a cable. He liked to play and would just always have it with him. I thought it wasn’t good for the bass but was cool that he just took it everywhere. I always worried someone would steal it.

my bass guy was the same, bass and cord only, except it was a silvertone hollowbody with a neck like a baseball bat and an embarrassing tobacco burst. kept it back there with an epiphone acoustic.

My friend had a nice Fender bass, and a beat up looking... and I didn’t realize what it was at the time in historical perspective.... Tweed Bassman. And a Gretch electric. He worked from the time he was 12 and by 16 had those three things instead of a car, basically. He was a solid bass player. Pretty solid rhythm player. Probably had less than $500 invested in 3 things that today would be worth... more.

I concur...;)

Come to think of it, I was out of black boot polish. My fervent hope is that I get to go outside and wear the dang boots! So I bought a new jar on Amazon.

Not that I only want COVID to end solely because of the boots, of course (you got the pun, right?). But you know. A side benefit would be pretty nice!
