When does a paunch become a gut?

At various times in my life i've experience the growth of a paunch. I blame my latest bout on the nightly bowl of ice cream, which i call my "calcium supplement". I'm not happy about the paunch, but ice cream is sooo good.

At what point should i be concerned that i have inflated a full-size spare?

Everyone has different levels of what they feel comfortable with, but one thing is for certain, carbs are a gut building machine. If you can simple cut back on carbs, you should see some weight come off. As a carb lover, it took me a long time to come to terms with this but as I got older, I had no choice.

About three years before this...

You're exactly right Shawn, carbs drive insulin levels which drive fat stores. I used to be a carb lover too, pizza, pasta, potatoes, bread and the occasional sweet thing. I've switched to a high fat-low carb diet (Primal/paleo) and I've lost a bunch of weight (and still losing it), my energy and hunger levels are much more stable and I feel tops (I did allude to it in the exercise thread but there was no interest :) )

It's pretty crazy to think that eating fat doesn't make us fat, and it's actually all about the carbs!

This is my weight recordings for the past 6 months or so, the T weight is my target weight (due to a bet with my dad), A weight is actual weight.
