Whats the optimal # of guitars...

"the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything" and of course guitars.

I have a two tier overflow guitar stand that looks simllar to the stand with the amp at the bottom of it.

Here's where the other 24 guitars go (I need to update the pics since I've traded a few guitars to buy other guitars).

As many as you actually play or need for recording/live performance, including any that you might not play but keep for sentimental reasons.

12 For me in order of preference (all my PRS are core):
- 2018 Semi-Hollow SC594 River blue (profile pic).
- 2023 Silver Sky Rosewood, Dodgem Blue.
- 2024 Hollowbody II 594.
- 1985 Fender MIJ HSS Stratocaster.
- 2024 PRS Double-Cut solid body 594.
- 1989 Charvel HS - one of the two 80s guitars from touring in metal bands - rebuilt with a Gotoh Floyd and Suhr pickups (A Thornbucker in the bridge & V63+ single in the neck, painted EVH, but British racing green substituted for Red.
- 2006 OLP MM12 (12 string asian version of a MusicMan Axis)
- 2005 Martin D-15 with LR Baggs Anthem.
- 2024 Paul’s guitar - yes my least favorite is a core PRS - it’s gorgeous, plays amazing, and rings well acoustically, but I can’t get with the Paul’s pickups. It’s going on Reverb unless someone wants to do an even trade of a Special Semi-Hollow.

Two other guitars I keep that belong to my daughter.
- 2005 OLP MM612 double-neck - just like mine above - believe it or not, I’ve owned USA MusicMans, and the OLPs (like Sterling now), play really well and sound really good. I can shred on both 12 string necks, at full standard tuning.
- 2004 Squier Stratocaster. My daughter no long plays, so I keep them alive and in tune.

Other than swapping the US Paul’s guitar for a Semi-Hollow Special, I’d like a Blue Matteo Custom 22/12 from the mid 2000s.
