What Was Your First Guitar?

My first Guitar was a Peavy Predator when they had maple boards... I want to say 1994 or 1995. It was a nice strat clone (usa made to boot, IIRC) and much better then the similarly priced Strat > Squire > Bullet Series of the time. I didn't get on too well with the single coils nor the trem and thus, if I recall correctly, sold it to fund a 4 string bass which I kept until about perhaps 3 years ago.
As to weather or not if I saw it today would I buy it back? Maybe, quite honestly I didn't really have any attachment to it but I also did not have as diverse of musical interest either. I suppose if the price was right I'd consider it.
Right now, the few PRS I own completely trump any previous guitar I've ever owned so even the ones I used to miss I don't even think about anymore, outside of threads specifically asking about such things.

I saved up my paper round/Christmas/Birthday money for about a year and bought a 1983 JV Squier Strat in 1989 and I still have it. Unfortunately I'm not a Strat man so I never play it, but I wouldn't part with it.
It's had a few mods - new electrics, replacement pickups and a Callaham trem (as the original stripped) - plus the black plastics I added as I liked the look of the Fender USA "International" series of guitars from the late 70s.
I still have the original strap I bought with it, and the really dodgy/cheap hard case I got for it at the time:

tiesco del ray...sold it many moons ago...my buy back would only be for use as a kitchen sliceing tool or as a bow for deer hunting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It did have four pickups. Lots of switches of all flavors. And golly gee batman! A metal pickguard with a sunburst finish!!!

A Teisco electric I got for Christmas when I was around 13, so that was back around '70.
Do not have it anymore.
After I got a Univox Les Paul copy in gold for my 15th birthday, I took the Teisco to school and stipped it down in woodshop to refinish it.
Some punk took a chisel to it when it was stored there overnight and destroyed it.
It was very similar to this one I found with Google.
Same color too.

It was a Sunburst Squier Standard back in 1995 (I think). I had it maybe 6 weeks and never learned how to tune it or even play any basic chords on it. Sold it and immediately regretted not giving it a chance. Got a Yamaha Pacifica a few months later and did the same thing but I at least put some effort in that time!
Wouldn't buy any of my first few guitars back except a British Racing Green Squier Strat that I played in bands through college. Shite guitar but I realised it meant more to me than I thought once it had been sold.

I started on acoustic in the fall of 1962 at 12 years old. That first guitar was a Mexican-made flamenco model with blonde sides and back--thankfully, it had geared tuners rather than friction pegs! Sounded pretty good, as I recall. I tripped over a stool backstage at my junior-high (they call it "middle-school" now) talent show in '65 and landed on the poor thing--smashed it beyond repair. It's tough to get a 14-year-old boy to cry, but I sure did then.
I talked my dad into getting me an electric guitar for my 14th birthday in '64. I got a St. George solidbody, probably made by Teisco or Kawai--two pickups, vibrato--and a little red Melody amp to run it through. In '67 I gave it to a kid at school. He wanted an electric guitar, his family had no money, it had some wiring problems by then, and I'd replaced it with a Vox Phantom 12-string. The kid knew a bit about electronics, and I told him that if he could fix it he could have it. Just a couple of years ago I ran into an identical guitar at a vintage guitar show, same finish and hardware, including the nuclear-yellow tuner buttons, and I hadn't seen a guitar with that exact combination of features since I got rid of mine. For all I know it could have been mine--the vibrato bar and the nameplate were missing, but you could see where the old plate had been, and it was the right shape. I'd have bought it if the guy hadn't wanted too much for it. He wanted $250, for a cheap guitar that was $85 new, and it hadn't improved any between '67 and 2010. Sorry, but nostalgia's not worth that much!

Gunn classical. The headstock snapped off when a daughter fell off the couch onto it - but we patched it up so she wouldn't be depressed and still have it, though it isn't really playable.

3/4 size nylon string classical. Still have it and it is playable. Every once in a while I plink around on it.

In (the summer of *) 1969, after badgering my mother incessantly, we went to a music store where I picked a blingy royal blue Magnatone over a Fender strat. I haven't owned that Mag for decades, but man I sure wish I still had that strat I didn't choose.

A Fender Acoustic. Can't remember the model number. Pretty sure it was an import model though. No longer have it & don't want it back....
After I got to the point where I still couldn't play it ........... I treated myself to a Squire Strat & a box that made really /cool sounds.

Me too! I remember going to the store (anyone remember Gemco) and looking at this Teisco guitar for months before my mom let me get it. Probably around 1974 or so. Mine came with a small amp with an 8" speaker. Here it is in all it's glory (I'm the one on the left) at my Jr. High School Talent Show as we played Takin' Care of Business!

My first was a mid 80's Hondo Strat copy in black with a white pick guard. I no longer have it...
My second was a 1984 Takamine GX-100 electric with a destroyer/explorer type body. It is turquoise and black burst. These were one of three models made for about one year I believe and are very rare (So the tech at Takamine tells me.) It is a mahogany neck-through body axe that plays like a dream. I will try to get a pic of it and post it. I sold it a few times and always bought it back. This was one my mom bought me so it will be staying with me from now on.
Here is a pic from Google, mine has a Les Paul bridge on it with a Seymour Duncan JB4 or JB5

Mine was a Axe strat copy. Bought it as a starter kit way back in 1986 with my first wage. £78. Plywood body. I got rid of that thing years ago.

When I was 5 or 6 yrs, I got a mini plastic made acoustic guitar that I wish I still had.
Got my first real guitar at 15 yr. It was a japan made fake stratocaster, black lacker finish on a laminated body of unkown wood type. The previous owner had a original german Floyd Rose and a Seymour Duncan humbucker fitted. I changed the neck for a 22 frets and renewed the electonics. I still have it.
