That's my recollection as well. It was genuine gold leaf, not really a foil top.

Well I was going to say that looks a LOT like the Santana Singlecut with the real Gold Leaf top that was the inspiration for the SE version which released a few years back with the TCI 'S' pickups that were also used for the SE versions of the Pauls and 35th Anniversary Cu24-08...
