Well, after all of the original hype and excitement, I haven't seen a lot of chatter on the newest S2 model. As soon as I saw the renegade photos posted, I was in love. I really dig the retro/punky vibe, and it is definitely unique, at least in the PRS realm. I have been through a few PRS' in the last year, trying out a lot of different models, and have liked each and every one. I love the two I currently have (Starla X P90 and Zach Myers), and so far, have to add this one to the love list. I guess it fits right in between the other two. First off, I am a fan of the S2 line. Let's just say that I can tell the difference between them and the SE line, and leave it at that.
Now the Vela. Antique White, my fave. It comes in at 6.3 pounds, and it feels amazing. It was set up perfectly. The pickup combo is interesting, and I really like it. I have never played a Tele, so I can't compare it to one. I just spent some time trying all of the combinations of the pickups on a bunch of different amp settings. Both pickups sound great to me. I really liked a little dirt on the neck! I've only had it for a day, so not a ton of time with it yet, but so far so good. So, some may think it's weird, but I dig it!
