What New Songs Are You Learning How To Play Now?

This is my first post. I guess it's as good a place as any to start. Right now I'm working on Still Got The Blues - Gary Moore and Shelter Me - Tab Benoit.

The GM version of Still Got The Blues is one of my all time favorites. I like the song because of its 6/8 timing (OK maybe its 12/8 but you count in 3's) and the ii-V-I concept that is embedded in this version of the song. Enjoy learning it. Solos sound great using a CU24 with some distortion - IMHO!

I can nail Moore's tone with a Marshall amp and my CU24 with 85/15's. Now if I could just play like Moore....

i have a jamdate coming up sunday, so in the works

the darkness - i believe in a thing love + getting on me
metallica - orion + the god that failed
foo fighters - the pretender

Been working on 2 the past few weeks

Karawan- Desolate Motion... It's a rocksmith song, but I got sick of waiting for more notes to unlock in the game, so just started working off Tab

And Tis the season for some...
TSO - O' Come All Ye Faithful/ O' Holy Night... I think I'm finally fast enough to get most of it down, lol

Right now, brushing up on "All The World's A Stage.". Used to play it all the time years ago when I had to stop to change and turn albums. Have a young friend who's a big Rush fan ( like me!) And he wants me to teach him a lot of it.

After that, back to working on some Dream Theater songs, and a few by Circus Maximus

Ooh, and the lead on " still of the night " because I have to teach him that one as well although the leads are way over his head.

Interesting to see the very wide variety of songs that our forum members play / are learning. Is anyone working on any jazz songs to go along with their beautiful PRS Hollowbody guitars? (Although I swear, I can get some great jazz type clean silky bass tones out of my NF3:proud:.)

Trying out, hey joe Hendrix,Smooth Santana,Poison Alice Cooper& Moonage Daydream, Bowie love this one. Mick Ronson Rock God my reason for learning guitar

Working on All Hope Is Gone by Alter Bridge on electric (the tuning is a bit weird on this one) and Stop This Train by John Mayer on acoustic (I suck at finger picking)

The entire Saint Asonia and New Year's Day albums. Going with the whole 'growing' thing, they both make use of 7-strings so I'll be figuring all the songs out by ear with a 7-string :)

Toughest one for me over the past while was Alert Status Red by Matthew Good.
Not because of the guitar parts, but because of the cadence of the singing. Took me many many hours to get that down!

Star Wars theme, Godfather theme, Midnight express theme, Santana-Black magic woman, europa, Samba pa ti, Joe Satriani-Flying in a blue dream & Always with you always with me, Spanish Flea, Metallica-Fade to black, Eric Johnson-Trademark

Ghost of Tom Joad.
I got a ukulele for Christmas so I've been playing that a lot. Playing Something, Here Comes the Sun, Let it Be, etc.
