What model should be next for the S2 line?

I think the S2 line has really found its place with the update to core electronics: Maryland-made guitars that play and sound amazing, but with simpler designs and materials to keep costs down. So...what should be the next S2?

My first choice would be an S2 Santana. I think a more affordable, but still Made in America, version of this PRS classic would go down well.
My second choice would be an S2 Modern Eagle V, or perhaps an S2 513 reissue. I think a guitar with that much versatility at an S2 price point might do well.

What do you all think?

I like how you're thinking..I hope to see more of the same enthusiasm in the S2 line as the se of late.

S2-Santana shape is always a win and would fit right in. Gimmie a Westie S2.0

S2-MEV makes perfect sense with the s2 Cu2408 getting the TCI pickups.

S2-DGT, an all hog would be cool here too.

An updated S2 studio with the narrowfields in place of the D style pickups as per the core model, and a 58/15 in the humbucker position

And updated with birds.

Pattern regular neck as per the original S2 Studio.

Gloss and matte finish options.

Or if they really want to change things up, same as above but on a vela platform - S2 Vela Studio.

Would sell like hot cakes.

+1 on the Vela Studio!

Haven't heard a bad idea yet!

This might be way too specific, but an S2 Studio with the core pickups and electronics on the all mahogany Standard platform with the Satin finish would be an absolute monster.

I've always thought that a Santana body shape with a single bridge pickup, based on Paul's second guitar would be killer too (as seen in this video)

While we're at it with the Santana, I'd be up for versions of all the core signature models in S2 form - Paul's, Santana, Tremonti, DGT. Not a one that I wouldn't be interested in!

I'd imagine myself being all over that Westie idea. I only wonder if they would sell enough: they are legendary among PRS afficionados, but I wonder if the love is widespread enough...

For me personally, I’d go S2 version of Santana shaped, Santana or other appropriate dual humbuckers, but no trem. I’m planning to block the trem on my Santana III until I finally get a hardtail double humbucker 24.5-ish inch scale guitar. It looks like I’m in a substantial minority here, so luckily blocks of wood are in abundance for folks like myself!

I’m with you. I’m also anti-wiggle stick.👍🤘
