What kind of rosewood?

I've got a potential buyer for my 25th Anniversary Custom 24 asking me what kind of rosewood the fretboard is made out of. I've been operating under the assumption that it's East Indian rosewood, but I don't have any definitive proof of that. It's not Brazilian rosewood, obviously... so I just assumed it's Indian rosewood. Has PRS ever used anything else?

Braz was phased out around 1992-93 except for some recent limited editions. Yours will be EIR.

All Brazilan guitars will have either "Made for U.S.A. Only" on the back of the headstock, or International Brazilian Rosewood paperwork substantiating the particular approved source of origin.

Otherwise, it's IRW.

I agree that it's likely IRW but my 408 has a Honduran RW fretboard. The MODCAT should specify the fretboard wood.
