I don't really have a second favorite but I do have some joint first for when I'm doing different styles or gigs.
    In no particular order.

    My modded Esquire alike
    [IMG]
Solid ash body & 1 piece neck Harley Benton (I think their Douglas in the US) with new saddles, tuners, pickguard, Wilkinson Broadcaster pickup & correct esquire 3 way switching

    Epiphone 50th Anniversary Sheraton
    [IMG]

Heavily modded Gretsch 5420T (Duane Eddy Tribute)
All American parts on a fantastic Electromatic body. A Duane Eddy Tribute for about 1/3 of the price

    1982 Gibson Spirit
    [IMG]

    Maverick Street Fighter 1
    [IMG]
When I need a little floyd action.

First of all, I LOVE PRS guitars, and the people who make them. I have some very special ones, and great memories to go along with them. Play at least one everyday.

However, if my house catches on fire, I’m grabbing this first (Thank God I have two hands plus a wife):

    2011 “Killer Quilt” ‘59 (R9) standard reissue. (1 of my 2); They made 10.

The brand was called Maverick and was co-owned by Trevor Wilkinson, they were manufactered between 2001 - 2006 when Trevor decide to start fret king guitars.
I used to be a demonstrator for them at guitar shows, so have owned a few of their models.

    Left to Right =
    F-1HT #13, F-1 #53, Prototype F-1 no serial number, X-1HT #28
    [IMG]

Two Swamp Ash models, Left to Right
    F-3 #35, SF-1 #11
    [IMG]

Jim Roots first signature model was a Maverick called the JR#4, sadly it was short lived due to problem with distribution in the US.
The company own made 100 JR#4's and used to own 3 of them, Left to right
    Number #27, Number #54, Number #56
    [IMG]

Over the last couple of years I have streamlined my collection down to 97 from 243 in october 2017 (partly caused by the pandemic but mostly because of my PRS cores)

    I currently only own the SF-1 & JR-4 #54

Those are so cool. I checked on reverb they are hard to find. In fact I only found one and it was overseas. Great price though. This was the type of thing I was hoping to see in this thread. I am a little surprised at the fact there wasn't any EVH or Charvel Jackson love in this thread. And not to any vintage guitars either. Very interesting.

This past year, I sold off 7 Strat's, to buy 6 PRS guitars. My only non-PRS left, is my all Fender parts caster.

Yeah, I'd say ESP would be my 2nd choice. They've always fit me well!

Last time I went to NAMM about eleventy bazillion years ago, I was seriously impressed by what ESP had on display. I'd not paid them much attention before, but they had a lotta nice guitars, including some seriously bonkers one-off high-dollar stuff that was custom built for the show.

I am actually a big fan of Schecter. I currently have 4. And, at around (or under a grand used) they are really nice for the money. I remember hating them as a teen ager. Mainly because all the metal head kids played them....and they would have names like "Lucifer" or "Gargoyle" with inverted cross inlays and ghosts floating around them (not really, but that was my impression of them at that time). I snagged a old Gryphon from craigslist on the dirt cheap as a shop beater (it is still in the shop by the way) and realized why the metal kids liked them. WAY easy to play. So for the speedy shredder type, it would fit. I have the C-SH1 and The C-1E/A (one has coil splits and the other has a peizo). They are my "poor man's 335/Languedoc mashup". I really like them. In fact, the C-1E/A has become my church guitar BECAUSE of that piezo. And the Set necks on those two, and my C-1 standard have this carve that tapers into the body. NO HEEL! Some of the best (for the money) guitars out there as far as I am concerned.

EDIT...I found a couple of pix of the Standard and the Gryphon
