What is this?

It looks like a Studio model routed for a neck humbucker. The 3 small knobs are aftermarket for sure. Looks like it has a wide thin neck and trem up route, which was common for Studios.

Edit: after a better look it isn't a Studio or an Ed King model. Those had the middle single coil routed the other way around, so the middle pickup should be the modified one.

Pretty sure they were a thing and that I've seen them before. If original, which it seems to be, it may be a pretty fair value at around that price.

It looked a lot worse before. The guy bought it and tried to sell it for a lot. He cleaned it up a bit but it’s still rough. Looks like he ended up trading it.

Its kinda cool. I'd buy it for about $1500, gig it and not fear if it met a cruel death at the hands of a moron....be it me or a crowd member!!

i remember the previous owner was “fielding offers” and wouldn’t give a $$ amount he wanted. It was a bit toolish in my opinion.

Yeah, that's weak, for sure. Just say what you want so people don't waste their time or yours.

I don’t know. My view is when you set the price you’re saying what you want. Once you’re making offers it’s a negotiation and I’m not keen on giving another number personally.

I getcha, but I only haggle with dealers. Individuals? I want to know the ballpark range - their price - when I see the instrument. It lets me know if I should even make contact. I hate tire kickers and dreamers. I don't want to come off the same way.

I threw out a low number and he didn’t reply. If you have no starting point then you are gonna get insulting offers.
