What is this on my fretboard?

Hi, this is a pretty new Silver Sky SE fretboard.

I'm guessing polishing compound but wanted to get some opinions.

Also what is the best way to get this clean?

Yeah looks like polishing compound. Naptha and something fine enough to get in there. Maybe a q-tip or a tooth brush.

Or don't worry about it. No biggie.

Yep, naphtha ( aka zippo lighter fluid), then some good fingerboard oil.

But with a rag or brush. Not like this.

Canned air, like a keyboard de-duster. Solvents may get some of the superficial stuff off, but likely to make some of it penetrate further into the open grain.

Well he may be a closet drummer... we don't know.
But from what I've seen so far after ten years or so I'd say there is no evidence of trap slapping.
