What is a wrap burst?

I'm seeing some PRS with 'wrap burst' on their finish nomenclature. Smoke wrap burst for example.

I believe it means the finish wraps around the sides, as opposed to paint. I think that also means no binding.

I currently have two 594 bursts in the same color, one with the binding, one with the wrap. If I have a preference, I can’t decide which it is.

On the other hand, I’m pretty sure I like the color...

Same here.
Happy owner of two Santana in Black Gold burst. One with binding, one without. Like them both.
Perhaps the one without the binding is the one which would go out of the house first in case of fire or something.
