What I will find underneath the paint of my SE?

I was wondering, if I take off the paint from my SE Dave Navarro siignature, what I'll find?
The specs say that it has a maple top, but I'm not sure if it will be a solid maple top (I think it's very unlikely) or a veneer like the other Customs...
If someone has experience in these things please help me, cause I really don't know what to expect and I'm a little bit scared. I really don't want to have some strange surprise.

I can see two seams on the maple edge "binding" on my Orianthi SE so I would imagine you'll find a top of three pieces underneath that finish. Here's the back of a 2012(?) SE Custom 24 that I refinished, the neck and body are made from three pieces as well.

I would expect a solid piece with no veneer. Veneers are for esthetics, it would cost less in production to skip it on a guitar that will get a solid finish. Just keep in mind, the piece or pieces of maple are probably not going to be figured, and may have seams in unusual places.

I was wondering just about the production cost of "solid" maple top instead of veneer, and I thought that the veneer should be cheaper. So I was thinking that maybe underneath I'll fine something like that.
I was really hoping it to be just mahogany, but today I found that out and my dream comes apart. Now I'm not really sure if I want to take off the paint.

The dream doesn't have to die.

Why not glue a veneer over that multi piece top yourself?

The veneer is just the figuring on the "see through" tops. There is still a thin slab of maple underneath that on there. And if you're a little handy with some glue you can by sheets of veneer from some online retailers and cut and match them up and just glue it on top. There's threads and instructions out there that tell you how to do it.
