What happens to a model's pilot run?

    On one of the PRS site blog posts, it says that they did a pilot run of the new S2 Mccartys, once they settled on the specs.

    Out of curiosity, what happens to most of these guitars? I assume they keep a couple on the vault to document the evolution of the brand. Are the others destroyed, given to employees or sent to people for demo purposes?
